Board game escapades with the family.

I Guess This Isn't So Bad...

Turns out there are a couple of benefits to being here instead of back home... and also just general good stuff in life non-related to my geographical location :)

Things That Actually Make Life Kind of Okay

1. 4.6 GPA. Awh yeah. They weight grades so wonderfully here.
2. 30/506 class rank :) That's in the 95th percentile-ish :P
3. Not so many homeworks :)
4. AWESOME NEW (probably) JOB!!! more on this later. when it's for sure
5. More time, because fewer electives that I feel the need to stay involved in!
6. Have I mentioned how much I love the food here?
7. Being Selected as a Westminster "Top Prospect Applicant" Hello faster admissions decisions!
8. Having an excuse to just not talk to people if I'm feeling antisocial!
9. This. I have been published on Sparknotes. And they didn't even tell me! :P
10. Senior Muffin Wednesdays. Yum.
11. Beach Day on Friday with the Family :)

Why I Still Miss Home

1. Still not big on humidity
2. Still not having so many friends
3. Once again, not so big on the school spirit
4. Freaking Freshman Class.
5. Frankly, it's home. I miss the people and the places and just about everything.

as a final note, this song makes me cry and gets stuck in my head and I am weirdly addicted to it now.

A Good Day

Life is Good :) Didn't see that one coming, did you? Well, While I'll admit that things aren't perfect, they're definitely getting better, and I actually had a good day today :)

Reasons Why Life Doesn't Suck So Much

1. New Favorite Song (and artist. so much love.) <3
2. New Friends
3. Still having my old friends
4. Debate is starting up for real!
5. Probably joining lacrosse
6. Teachers (and coaches!) who notice when something's up and make it easy to talk to them
7. So few homeworks :)
8. There isn't so much humidity anymore!
9. Possibility of the house selling
10. Almost done with my college apps
11. It's now the weekend :)

I was gonna add a list of things that still kinda suck, but I feel more like relaxing and enjoying my weekend :) Andy Grammer and I have a lot of catching up to do!

Dumb Mean Varmints

What does that have to do with anything? you ask. The initials. DMV. urrrrrgh. I have had my drivers license for over a year now, no incidents, etc. Now with this move, we're having to switch to North Carolina licenses. Shouldn't be a big deal, right? WRONG. according to the SUUUUPER helpful woman on the phone (SARCASM SARCASM SARCASM) I not only need to bring in my license, I also need documentation to prove that I had my permit, and my certificate of completion from drivers ed. From more than a year ago. Now before you start lecturing me about how I need to save important documents, yadda yadda yadda, this is not my fault that I don't have these. When I got my Utah license almost 13 months ago, they took these documents from me. And they didn't keep them on file. We called to check. Now upon informing SUUUUPER helpful woman of this, we were told my other option is to wait to get a license until I turn 18. Or I could always take drivers ed again! urrrrrrrrgh. So much anger have I. I got the license in Utah. Utah requires a permit and drivers ed. Logic says that since I have a license, I had all that stuff. Not only logic, but also the law. but noooo, this isn't enough for those Dumb Mean Varmints in the lovely (SARCASM SARCASM SARCASM) state of NC. At this moment I would like to come home more than ever. They don't want to let me drive, they're making me take freshman level classes, and I still have basically no friends. Soooo..... that stuff everyone said about how welcoming people here are....not feelin it. Not at all. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :(

2010-2011

Pretty much every year I make a little video of pictures through the year with some relevant music. Usually I post this on facebook. This year, the facebook admins got mad because of the background music and I was unable to post it. so here is the one for my junior year.

Ta da!

Moping.... :/

I'm doing it again :/
Yeah...... but it's kinda hard not to when you're all alone and don't have anything left to keep you occupied. Also when you finished all your homework immediately after school to keep busy and keep your mind off things. I've been in school one week now, and still having a bit of trouble finding a place to fit in. Hence the moping and angsting and sitting alone in a quiet room whenever I'm not in school. And all the extra attention my homework has been getting is thanks to this. and when I say extra I mean excessive. Over the top. Way more than is necessary or normal. yep. I'm turning into a hermit. One who doesn't talk. I know right? Abbie not talking? crazy. But it's true. so I have compiled a lovely list today. (yes, I do constantly have a soundtrack in my life)

Songs That Aid My Angsting/Moping

1.This one is simultaneously depressing and mildly comforting
2.This is an old favorite for being mopey for me
3. Aaaaand the melancholy continues here
4. I have an irrational love for this man
5. This is one I am newly obsessed with
6. I have a very deep fondness for this man
7. Yes. I have entered full-on mope
8. This chick is always pretty interesting
9. The best part of this is the monkey suit.
10. This woman seems to be stalking me. all the time.

And on that miserable note, I have nothing positive to say right now, so I shall return to my angsting/moping
