So today was my first real foray into the working world. It was tedious, not very informative, and really disorganized. hmmm...sounds about right :P I will be spending my summer working at the new Seven Peaks Salt Lake (it used to be Raging Waters) in the food services division. y'all should come order foods from me.
Today was Orientation/Check-in, and it was reeeaaaallly pointless.
First weird thing- hundreds of high school students, and I didn't happen to know a single one! how does that happen??
Next weird thing- picture this, I'm sitting by myself, second seat from the end of the aisle. on my left, one open seat. on my right, 2-3. 2 girls come in late, see their friends down the row from me. Now you would think they would sit to my right, next to their friends. Wrong. One sits directly to my right, the other on my left. They then proceed to talk the ENTIRE time, and make me smell like their super strong shampoo...
Things I Learned By Sitting Between Random Strangers
1. The girl to my right (let's call her Tammy) was babysitting her nephew til 4 a.m. the night before
2. Tammy was going to church after orientation and before check-in, but she thought she would be done at 5
3. Tammy was then going to a Bees game
4. After said Bees game, Tammy was picking up the girl to my left (let's call her Ashley) to go to a movie at 8
5. Tammy and Ashley like Bon Qui Qui (look it up on youtube)
6. Tammy and Ashley think our managers are cute
7. Tammy and Ashley wanted candy
8. Tammy didn't eat breakfast
9. Tammy had her dad's phone because he left it at grandma's house and she picked it up
10. Ashley is really bad at being sarcastic/heckling
11. Ashley doesn't like that she's going to be working, and therefore didn't care about being there
12. Ashley needs to wear pants that actually cover her butt....
So THAT was fun... :P
Then I had to go to the park for check-in. Lots of paperwork and standing around in the cold. Got sized for a uniform, (t-shirt and a hat, plus my own jeans and close-toed shoes), had my picture taken for my snazzy employee badge, and went home.
A Couple of Things That Are Positive
1. My Supervisor recognizes me and knows my name already, unlike she does with the other 50+ employees in our department
2. The impressed look on said Supervisor's face when she found out that I have my ServSafe certification as opposed to just a food handlers permit
3. Training and cleaning has been moved to after all my AP/IB tests are finished
4. I had some nice bonding time with my Daddy
5. dailypuppy.com. It rocks my world. Look over to the left. That's right. A new puppy every single day!
all in all, a pretty good day :)
I have a strange, but interesting, life so i feel the need to tell you all about it :)

People I am Inclined to Kick
Yeah yeah I know. Second post in a day. In about two hours really. But I felt the need to get this list out. These are people I would very much like to kick right now, and why. Names will not be used to protect privacy, yadda yadda yadda. I think you'll be able to tell though, if you know me like you should :P
1. My Boyfriend's Father- for oh so many reasons...
2. My Boyfriend's Friend Who He Really Kind of Hates - for telling my boyfriend that he should "get some" while I'm gone. Not cool.
3. That Chick Who Asked My Boyfriend to Have Sex With Her- What. The. Poop. Who does that??? You know I exist, lady. You met me. I didn't like you then, I don't like you now. Back. Off. GRRRRRR.
4. My Debate Partner- SHOW UP TO PRACTICE ONCE IN A WHILE!!! We're going to Nationals in a little more than a month... WE NEED PRACTICE.
5. My Drama Teacher- I simply hate his guts. Everyone does though, nothing new
6. The Principal of My Boyfriend's High School - terrorizing innocent little girls who didn't happen to know that your school dances require straps on dresses, because she doesn't attend your school, is not cool. That was traumatizing, humiliating, mortifying, terrifying, I could go on for quite a while...
7. My I Don't Even Know What to Call You, Because Things Keep Changing- what happened to listening to me and actually giving a monkey's patootie??
8. My Computer- I know, I know. Not a person. But he has a name, and he's really annoying me right now...
Now that I've gotten that out, I think I should put something a touch more cheery, so now I will write a final list for the night:
People I am Very Grateful For, and Thusly Do Not Wish to Kick
1. My New Found Brother- you're a legitimately nice and good person, and I appreciate you very much
2. My Boyfriend's Mom- you're probably the nicest lady I have ever met, and I really appreciate all the stuff you're doing!
3. My Boyfriend- Well, duh.
4. My Man Buddy- always a cheerful smile and a firm handshake for me. Thanks for listening to all my crap
5. My Crazy Spaghetti Eating Cat- more on that some other day
6. The Nice Girl Who Made Me Straps- you were so sweet and the perfect antidote to psycho principal lady...
7. My Adorable Little Tell-All Buddy- even though I've only known you since August, you mean soooo much to me!!
8. My TOK Teacher- Coolest Lady in the World
I am sure if I kept at this I could think of many many more people for both lists, but I am getting sick of staring at my stupid computer's screen, and think 8 for each is plenty for now :)
for you first eight, here's a virtual kick. I hope you fully receive it and enjoy. *KICK*

"You have a zumba body" -Creepy Track Kid
"Are you the real Abbie??" -K.R.
"Wow. That is one of the best ponytails I have ever felt!" -J.B.
"If it helps any, your face is really soft!!" -R.F.
I think I'm gonna keep this strictly things about me, otherwise all the crazy stuff would be about a mile long :) yeah. my friends are the coolest. This is all I can think of for now (and all happened fairly close together) but I'll post more when I remember or someone reminds me :P
